No matter how many years we have been photographing weddings, we still get that special feeling every time we are photographing one. And it was definitely no exception for the Wedding of Helen & Scott.
We first met the couple early 2016. During that first meeting we developed an instant connection. They explained how they had been together for many years and had three lovely children, Lucy, Chloe & Charlie, yet they had only now decided to get married.
Sadly, Scotts father had recently been diagnosed with cancer and was quite unwell so Helen and Scott explained that some plans would have to remain flexible and of course we were more than happy to accommodate this.
This wedding was to be a fusion of Greek Cypriot and English cultures, with a traditional Church of England ceremony at St Anne’s Church in Highgate, N6 and followed by a more traditional Greek style reception at the beautiful Grand Palace Banqueting Suite, N22.
Having now known the couple for over a year it is fair to say that both Helen and Scott are some of the most funniest, kind hearted and genuine people we have worked with.
So on the 24th June, we started the day welcomed with open arms at Helen’s parent’s house, joined by great videographers Tony Vouniotis from Top Class Vision and his assistant Mario. Both were a pleasure to work with and highly recommended.Whilst here we captured the bridal preparations and the traditional Greek Orthodox blessing with incense.
We then walked across the road to groom Scott’s parent’s home to capture images there with his parents too.
Once done here we were off again to find Father Andrew at St Anne’s Church. After the ceremony a Traditional Red Bus arrived to take guest on to the reception whilst we remained to capture some images of the new Mr & Mrs Gentle!
We then off to meet all the guests at the wonderful Grand Palace Banqueting Suite where we were all spoilt with wonderful food and a brilliant service. It was without a doubt a fantastic day and one that everyone seemed to enjoy throughly.
We have to say a huge thank you to Helen and Scott for entrusting us with photographing their special day. To all their family and friends for welcoming us and making us and being so great to work with. To videographers Tony and Mario for being so brilliant to work with. To all the staff at Grand Palace Banqueting Suite for taking such good care of us. And finally to our assistant, Christine who worked so hard on the day.
We would like to wish Helen & Scott a lifetime of joy and happiness.

Have you ever spoken to someone over the phone and just felt that instant connection? Well exactly that happened earlier this year.
We received a call from Richard asking if we had availability on 13th February to photograph a small, intimate wedding ceremony at the Bishops Stortford registry office. This was less than a month away.
Richard explained that whilst they live in Buckinghamshire, they had decided to have the ceremony in Bishops Stortford, as he really wanted his grandmother to be there and making her travel to the couples home town would be too stressful for her.
Speaking to Richard gave us a chance to really understand the dynamics for his family and that of his Portuguese wife to be, Carla. We seemed to click immediately and at the first planning meeting Carla confirmed that too.
She explained how she had been in the room when Richard had called. When the call ended she had turned to him and said “you really got on with that photographer, didn’t you?”.
They both explained how they found us to be approachable and flexible and in turn this made them feel relaxed and confident.
So the day soon arrived and as expected, it was very lovely indeed. Their love for one another seemed to fill the room and the laughter was definitely there too, as the nerves got the better of Carla and for a split moment she struggled to remember her own name!
After the kiss, the confetti shot and a quite trip to the park for some family photos, we headed off to The Lemon Tree restaurant close by in Bishops Stortford, for the reception. Here the love and joy continued and it was so lovely to see the two cultures coming together.
It was such an honour to be part of their day and we wish them a future filled with joy and happiness.

Having fallen behind on our blog we decided to start with Rebecca and Scotts wedding which was on the 25th April last year.
Having photographed many weddings at the Great Hallingbury Manor over the past few years the Rebecca and Scott knew they would be in safe hands.
Unlike most of our wedding enquires, Rebecca initially got in touch via Facebook late October 2014 and during their first Pre Wedding Consultation, it was clear that a connection had been formed. A wonderful family whom we would go on to photography a number of times before the big day it self.
Fast forward to the 25th April 2015 and everything was set to go.
Rebecca was her bubbly, smiley self and it was lovely to see her so relatively relaxed during her bridal preparations. This gave us the perfect opportunity to capture some stunning documentary style images.
Scott was a little more nervous on the day, however he was, as always, a pleasure to work with. Little things mean a great deal on a wedding day and it is not just the bride who has important accessories. For Scott these were his West Ham Football Club cufflinks, which he wore with pride.
With the Great Hallingbury Manor Hotel, Oak Room, already transformed, it was time for the ceremony.
It was so evident from the very first day we met, that Rebecca and Scott had something truly special. With two wonderful boys, their family was already formed, so it was always set to be an emotional day. And the ceremony was just that!
As the new Mr & Mrs Staff emerged, their friends and family came together to rejoiced.
With the ceremony over there was now time for our couple to take a break and relax. As we left the guests to enjoy the superb drinks reception, we move to the lake for some beautiful, more intimate images.
The day seemed to go so fast and before we knew it the formalities of the cake cutting, speeches and the first dance were over. All that was now left was to enjoy the evening, and capture some incredibly funny images from our take of the old PhotoBooth, our very own Comedy Corner!
Thank you to Rebecca and Scott for booking us to cover their special day. Thank you to all their family and friends for making it such a brilliant event and to all the staff of the Great Hallingbury Manor Hotel, who yet again went above and beyond to provide an outstanding service.

What value would you place on the preservation of your memories? This may sound like an odd question, however it is one that we rarely consider until such time as tragedy strikes, or life’s events take an unexpected turn.
As professional photographers we spend many years mastering the art of capturing other peoples memories. They maybe special moments captured by a Photojournalistic Wedding Photographer, or a classic portrait of a child. They maybe the unique character of a beloved family pet, photographed at their favourite location, or a stunning Portrait of a family.
And once the photography session is over and the hours of professional editing complete, the next stage is to ensure these images can be enjoyed for years to come.
After extensive research on the products available, we discovered GraphiStudio, an album supplier like no other. Not only are their products handcrafted, using some of the worlds finest materials, but their desire and commitment to providing the highest quality has seen them become the most innovative, industry market leaders.
GraphiStudio albums have graced both our office and the homes of our clients for many years, ensuring that the images of today remain the legacy of tomorrow.
Consider this…. how much will you spend on a Wedding Dress or Morning Suit? How much will you spend on the flowers to decorate your venue and the cake to share with your guests?
Yet as soon as the wedding is over, the flowers now wilted, the cake eaten and the dress packed away, other than your love for each other, what else will stand the test of time?
Your photography is the only asset that will, not only live on long after the final dance, but that will also increase in value year after year. For as time rolls on, life will change and those we love dearly will eventually pass away.
My own father spent his final years bed bound, imprisoned by the effects of MS, Parkinsons and Alzheimer’s, before he sadly passed away. So how valuable are these images now? In truth, they are priceless!
This is why we have resisted the ever evolving trend of supplying digital only copies within our Wedding Photography Collections. Whilst we are happy to include digital versions, we will only do so once an album has been created.
The hours of design, and weeks of handcrafting are not simply to create a book of the finest paper and most beautiful leather, or even metal, covers. When we create an album, we are creating a unique, storybook, which within its pages, will preserve detailed memories to be enjoyed for many years, and treasured long after we have left this world behind.
For us we are not merely designing a book, we are crafting a priceless legacy for future generations.

It never ceases to amaze us how unique each wedding can be and it was that knowledge that really motivated us to create personalised wedding packages for each new couple.
We knew from the beginning that we would love to work with Ross and Larisa and that instant connection and mutual understanding is really important. A wedding is never without some degree of stress and we want our couples know they can rely on us.
Unlike many of our weddings, this was to be a very intimate day with only a handful of guests. With Larisa’s having worked for some years in art galleries, she knew exactly what she wanted. The focus was to capture both natural images to document the day and beautiful, classic images of the couple within the stunning grounds of their venue.
The legacy Great Hallingbury Manor is a familiar venue, in which we have had the pleasure to photograph regularly, so we were only too happy to be returning once again for this wonderful wedding.
Larisa did not want traditional bridal preps as such so we arranged to visit her just before she was ready. By staying on the edge of the activity and working in a photojournalistic style, we were able to document the emotion and atmosphere without influencing it in any way. The ceremony itself was beautiful and we were blessed with the most glorious sunshine. Perfect for our location photoshoot around the luscious grounds.
It was such an honour to play a part in Larisa and Ross’s special day and we thank them for entrusting us with such an important responsibility. We look forward to seeing them again in the future.
If you are looking for a personalised photography service that will cater for your specific needs then get in touch today to book your no obligation, pre wedding consultation, and see what we can create for you.

We met Lee and Sarah in 2013 and immediately knew it was a perfect match. They had already booked to have their ceremony and reception at the beautiful Legacy Great Hallingbury Manor Hotel, situated just outside the market town of Bishops Storford. Lee & Sarah wanted full cover from the bridal preparations right through to the end of the evening and had opted to include our Comedy Corner service. With the wedding set for 7th February 2014 and the ceremony scheduled to start at 5pm, we knew there would be the usual challenges of limited natural light and potentially difficult weather conditions. Thankfully however, our studio is located in the neighbouring village of Little Hallingbury and as such we are accustom, and well equipped to deal with, the impact of poor weather out here in the countryside. We did not quite envisage, however, the issue of flooding. The night before the wedding and unbeknown to all of us, the hotel’s beautiful lake decided to flood the entire restaurant and kitchen area. On our arrival at around 1pm we were greeted by the manager, Rose Walker, who explained that she had been called out at 4am when the lake decided to breech its banks. The dedication and exceptionally professional attitude of the team meant that by the time the Wedding was due to start, the pumps had managed to clear all the water and the kitchen was back up and running, ensuring that the Wedding Breakfast arrived on time and exactly how Lee and Sarah had expected it. It was such a lovely Wedding and the laughter flowed from start to end. The Comedy Corner was a huge success, as was the surprise guest appearance (see if you can spot him in the images below) of one of the best celebrity impersonators we have ever seen. Having Lee & Sarah return to the studio to view their slideshow was like welcoming back old friends, ands what greater gift than to see the images we captured immediately transported us all back to that special day. Needless to say the laughter and the tears (of joy of course!) flowed in abundance.
