Wedding Of Sidone & James at The Great Hallingbury Manor Hotel, Bishops Stortford, Herts.

We met Sidone, James and little Bella, back in May 2016 at a wedding show at The Great Hallingbury Manor Hotel, the venue they had chosen to book for their special day and one that we know very well.
Over the 18 months or so we held our usual pre-wedding planning meetings, one of which was at the venue. On that occasion, we were joined by Lisa, the venue’s Wedding Coordinator and Mark, the Toastmaster.  They are a great team to work with and it is always a pleasure to work with venues who share the same values and offer a great service to their clients.
At that meeting was also the latest addition to the family, baby Freddie had arrived and would be only eight months by the day of the wedding.
With so much time to plan their wedding,  Sidone and James could choose and book the suppliers they wanted. However, one thing totally out of their control was the British weather! Thankfully, it is something that, as professional photographers, we always plan for.
Arriving early on the day we began with the bridal prep and groom prep photographs.
Sidone had been clear during our planning meetings that she did not want photographs taken of her before her makeup and hair had been completed. So we took advantage of the time to capture some lovely images of her accessories and managed to accommodate James’ groom prep images too.

A wedding day is a day of celebration, where family and friends join together to celebrate the love two people share for each other. However, life does not always work to plan and for some, it can also be a very difficult day, when sadly, some of those special people can no longer be there to share in the celebrations. And this is was the case for James and Sidone.
They were determined however to ensure that James’ father, who sadly passed away a few years earlier, would still play a part in their special day. From the lapel pins featuring his face, given to the groom and best man, to the pictures of him, that graced the memorial table and right the way through to the speeches later that evening.
By the end of the day, there was not one dry-eyed person left.

The weather was definitely feeling the emotions too as it rained heavily throughout the day and evening. But Sidone, James, their family and friends did not let this stop them from having an amazing time. And, as always the staff at the venue, along with Toastmaster, Mark, all made sure that everything went to plan.

Great Hallingbury Manor Hotel Wedding of Rebecca & Scott by Herts & Essex Wedding Photographer, Detheo Photography.

Having fallen behind on our blog we decided to start with Rebecca and Scotts wedding which was on the 25th April last year.

Having photographed many weddings at the Great Hallingbury Manor over the past few years the Rebecca and Scott knew they would be in safe hands.

Unlike most of our wedding enquires, Rebecca initially got in touch via Facebook late October 2014 and during their first Pre Wedding Consultation, it was clear that a connection  had been formed. A wonderful family whom we would go on to photography a number of times before the big day it self.

Fast forward to the 25th April 2015 and everything was set to go.

Rebecca was her bubbly, smiley self and it was lovely to see her so relatively relaxed during her bridal preparations. This gave us the perfect opportunity to capture some stunning documentary style images.

Scott was a little more nervous on the day, however he was, as always, a pleasure to work with. Little things mean a great deal on a wedding day and it is not just the bride who has important accessories. For Scott these were his West Ham Football Club cufflinks, which he wore with pride.

With the Great Hallingbury Manor Hotel, Oak Room, already transformed, it was time for the ceremony.

It was so evident from the very first day we met, that Rebecca and Scott had something truly special. With two wonderful boys, their family was already formed, so it was always set to be an emotional day. And the ceremony was just that!

As the new Mr & Mrs Staff emerged, their friends and family came together to rejoiced.

With the ceremony over there was now time for our couple to take a break and relax. As we left the guests to enjoy the superb drinks reception, we move to the lake for some beautiful, more intimate images.

The day seemed to go so fast and before we knew it the formalities of the cake cutting, speeches and the first dance were over. All that was now left was to enjoy the evening, and capture some incredibly funny images from our take of the old PhotoBooth, our very own Comedy Corner!

Hertfordshire & Essex Wedding Photography. Chris & Mary At The Great Hallingbury Manor Hotel.

Our first wedding at the Great Hallingbury Manor Hotel was that of Chris & Mary.

A wonderful, fun loving couple who were an absolute pleasure to work with.

From our first meeting it was clear that they wanted a relaxed, natural approach to the day and our photographic style definitely seemed to compliment this.

Working her wonders on the day was Wendy Fach, hair & makeup artist, whose creativity and expertise transformed our bride Mary,  maid-of-honour Kerry and little flower girl Niamh, effortlessly.

The day progressed smoothly and elegantly, filling the hotel grounds with the sounds of joy and laughter.

We would like to thank all of the wonderful people we met on the day and especially to Chris & Mary who made us feel so welcomed. What a fantastic first wedding at this venue.

Hertfordshire / Essex Photographer – Great Hallingbury Manor Fairytale Weddings Launch Shoot.

At Detheo Photography we strongly believe in working in partnership with others, especially in our local community. Our commitment to providing an affordable,  high quality, personalised service has continually been met with open arms and we are proud of the links we have made so far.

One such link is with Great Hallingbury Manor Hotel. A stunning, country hotel who is always welcoming us back and has repeatedly provided a service second to none.

It was sometime early this year that we first met with Sales Manager, Jill Moore to discuss our ethos and vision for the future. So when Jill contacted us to request our services on the launch of the hotel’s new bridge, we were very excited.

Set amongst the immaculate gardens is the hotel’s own lake, in which lays a tiny island. With the hotel catering this year for some 80 weddings, they decided to built a striking bridge and create a beautiful wooden gazebo on the island.

After battling with the extreme weather conditions and having to accept some delay, the transformation was finally ready and now it was time to formally launch the new setting.

With professional Make Up Artist, Jorjia Johnson and professional Hair Stylist, Tina Crossley on board, we were set for a bridal makeover, but we needed a bride.

Gemma Freeman, who had been married at the hotel last year, was delighted to take up the role and model her beautiful dress a second time.

For once the weather surprised us and the rain held off enabling us to capture some stunning images.

We hope you agree.
