Detheo Photography – Exciting New Developments Have Begun.

As many already know, Detheo Photography began over 7 years ago almost by accident. But we had never envisaged just what the future would hold.

The journey has been, at times, very challenging, both physically and emotionally, but nothing could destroy the passion.

In the very early days we worked from a room in our home. It was far from ideal, but it was all we had. At that time we would meet clients away from the office.  Then in 2013, with the business steadily growing,  we decided to convert our garage into a new office and studio combo.

This was to be a great asset and the business started to really take a turn as we were able to display samples of our work, host meetings and small workshops. At the same time we also started our Christmas Special Offers, shooting from the same space.

However, the business continued to evolve and over time we decided to make the move and take on our first Barn Studio.

Rustic and airy would be very simplistic words to describe it! At over 100 years old with no windows, lighting, flooring or heating it was a new challenge. But it gave us clarity on what we wanted for the future.

It was exciting to have such a huge space.

It accommodated many photoshoots and training sessions.

And just 12 months later we had moved into a properly converted stable block just opposite. We retained the Barn Studio name for ease and have since then seen Detheo Photography take another huge leap forward.

Our current Studio is still spacious and rustic.

We have a great shooting space too.

The transformation from those early days has been incredible and it is still quiet unbelievable to look back and see how far we have come.  But it is a journey that we have not travelled alone and the support of family and close friends has been a huge part of our success. Along the way we have faced difficult times, but we chose to learn from them and they have served to make us stronger and wiser.

2017 began with a promise to ourselves. It was to be our own commitment to dreaming bigger and, in turn, to achieving greater goals.

Today, we are proud to say, that we are well on our way to making those dreams a reality with this week seeing the building works begin on our new, purpose built office and studio.

The build is going to be quite extensive and projected to take approximately 4 months to complete. As such, business will continue as normal from the Barn Studio. However we look forward to keeping everyone updated on developments during the building phase, so make sure to follow our page on FaceBook.

Thank you to all of our clients for whom we have worked with over the years and especially to those who have been so supportive of our work. At the very core of  all our plans and developments is the ability to offer the highest, most personalised service possible and we know this new move will do just that.

London Wedding Photographer. North London Wedding Of Helen & Scott. St Anne’s Church, Highgate and The Grand Palace, N.22

No matter how many years we have been photographing weddings, we still get that special feeling every time we are photographing one. And it was definitely no exception for the Wedding of Helen & Scott.

We first met the couple early 2016. During that first meeting we developed an instant connection. They explained how they had been together for many years and had three lovely children, Lucy, Chloe & Charlie, yet they had only now decided to get married.

Sadly, Scotts father had recently been diagnosed with cancer and was quite unwell so Helen and Scott explained that some plans would have to remain flexible and of course we were more than happy to accommodate this.

This wedding was to be a fusion of Greek Cypriot and English cultures, with a traditional Church of England ceremony at St Anne’s Church in Highgate, N6 and followed by a more traditional Greek style reception at the beautiful Grand Palace Banqueting Suite, N22.

Having now known the couple for over a year it is fair to say that both Helen and Scott are some of the most funniest, kind hearted and genuine people we have worked with.

So on the 24th June, we started the day welcomed with open arms at Helen’s parent’s house, joined by great videographers Tony Vouniotis from Top Class Vision and his assistant Mario. Both were a pleasure to work with and highly recommended.Whilst here we captured the bridal preparations and the traditional Greek Orthodox blessing with incense.

We then walked across the road to groom Scott’s parent’s home to capture images there with his parents too.

Once done here we were off again to find Father Andrew at St Anne’s Church. After the ceremony a Traditional Red Bus arrived to take guest on to the reception whilst we remained to capture some images of the new Mr & Mrs Gentle!

We then off to meet all the guests at the wonderful Grand Palace Banqueting Suite where we were all spoilt with wonderful food and a brilliant service. It was without a doubt a fantastic day and one that everyone seemed to enjoy throughly.

We have to say a huge thank you to Helen and Scott for entrusting us with photographing their special day. To all their family and friends for welcoming us and making us and being so great to work with. To videographers Tony and Mario for being so brilliant to work with. To all the staff at Grand Palace Banqueting Suite for taking such good care of us. And finally to our assistant, Christine who worked so hard on the day.

We would like to wish Helen & Scott a lifetime of joy and happiness.
